The challenge

Warehouse workers performed hundreds of operations a day on paper printouts: verifying parcels against the order, changing statuses (received / packing / shipped), catching picking errors. Every correction required going back to a computer station, which generated delays and mistakes.

The solution

We designed a mobile Android app running on warehouse terminals with a built-in laser scanner as well as on ordinary phones (camera scanning). The worker scans a parcel's barcode or QR code and immediately sees its contents, status and operation history. Changing the status takes a single tap. The app works offline and syncs its state with the WMS once the network is back.

The outcome

Shorter warehouse operation times, elimination of copying data from paper slips, and fewer picking mistakes.
